Let’s start at the very beginning, when did Christmas trees become a thing? Well, the tradition of cutting down a tree and bringing it into the house to admire for the festive season originally comes from Germany, but quickly spread across the map when everyone realised how lovely they look. Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert started the trend for Christmas trees in Britain in the 1800’s and now the Christmas period doesn’t really start until the tree is up and the lights are on!
So, before we untangle the fairy lights and bring out the baubles, we thought we’d get some tree inspiration by taking a festive tour around the globe.
